Picking Natural Skin Care Products for Your Type of Dry Skin

by Sara Kitch

People with dry skin usually just worry about the tautness of their skin, however, what they don't realize is that dry skin can lead to other problems such as premature aging, cracking, and even bleeding. As a matter of fact, you should be careful which products you decide to use on your skin because dry skin is highly sensitive to chemical ingredients found in traditional skin care products.

Furthermore, dry skin has two subtypes which need to be treated separately. These subtypes are normal dry skin and extremely dry skin. You may think it's a bit exaggerated, but it's necessary to treat these skin types.

Dealing with regular dry skin starts with the right cleansing routine. It is important that you choose products that will not dry out your skin even further. Therefore, you should use products that are free from alcohol and artificial fragrances and colors.

Cream cleansers are your best bet. Another good tip is to stay away from soap and water because it will dry out your skin, and to use a toner that does not contain alcohol.

Your dry skin care should be rounded off with a good moisturizing cream that should be reapplied as many times as you need it during the day. Don't forget to exfoliate once every week with exfoliating creams or homemade mixtures based on grapefruit juice and oatmeal.

People with very dry skin, will notice that their skin still feels tight and itchy after performing the previously mentioned cleansing routine. If you feel that this is your situation then you should seriously consider switching over to oils, not oil-based products, but actual oil. Olive oil and rose hip oil are excellent options for treating very dry skin.

Instead of using a cream cleanser, you can also try olive oil. Simply massage it into your skin and remove with a warm, damp washcloth. Be gentle as dry skin does tend to be extremely delicate.

Before allowing all the moisture from your skin to evaporate, apply your moisturizer. Once again reach for oil. This time you can use rose hip seed oil, which is a natural, cold pressed oil, to keep your skin supple.

When exfoliating this type of dry skin you can use a very unorthodox natural product for dry skin, milk. However you should make sure to moisturize immediately afterwards because milk tends to tighten the skin in an abrupt manner.

It may not be easy to find the right natural skin care products but with a little trial and error it will be well worth the effort.

As a matter of fact, BIOSKINBALM's perfect blend of ingredients helps make it the ideal face skin care product for all skin types, even the most sensitive ones.
