What is a Proactive Acne Treatment?

by Valerie Garner

When someone is said to be proactive it means that they are the type of person that goes out and gets what they want. So, if that idea is linked to proactive skin care, then it basically means that you are following a skin care routine that requires you to search for a solution to your problems before those problems become critical.

This approach is an excellent way to deal with acne and other skin problems. Acne affects about 85% of the population. It affects both teenagers and adults.

Keep in mind that some forms of acne, namely hormonal acne, require medical intervention and/or some kind of acne medication. Nevertheless, these forms of acne can greatly benefit from a proactive approach. Here are a few tips that you should incorporate into your acne skin care routine.

Proactive Acne Diet

The proper diet is essential for a healthy body and healthy skin. It can regulate the rate of healing and boost your skin's resistance to external factors. When creating your dietary plan, keep in mind that some foods can produce allergies and provoke acne outbreaks.

First, identify which foods cause your skin problems so that you can moderate their intake or avoid them completely. Every person is different, so don't rely on other people's experiences. If you find the need, you can maintain a food log of your reactions to certain foods.

A healthy diet includes plenty of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. These foods are rich in antioxidants and contain a lot of fiber. For your protein needs you should eat lean meats, fish, and legumes.

Proactive Skin Care

Your acne problems can be alleviated by choosing natural skin care products. In fact, all you need to do is look around and you'll find several natural products that are ideal for your skin care needs.

Look for products that contain Vitamin C, Vitamin A (retinol or retinoic acid) and salicylic acid. Ingredients such as Vitamin A are especially geared towards treating acne problems.

Proactive Habits

Another proactive acne solution is the simple fact of changing some of your bad habits. For example, smoking is an extremely noxious habit that can make your skin weak and vulnerable to external damage.

Sun bathing is another bad habit that should be avoided. Sun exposure is cumulative, which means it can get worse with time so you need to always use sunscreen, especially when you'll be exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time.

Also, use protective garments if you have to be out in the sun for extended periods of time. However, if you're not into the white summer tan then remember that there are several self tanning products and bronzers that can help you achieve the same tanning effects without the harmful consequences.

Acne creams that contain natural ingredients like snail serum, Vitamin C and Vitamin A are ideal for treating all types of acne vulgaris. However, if your skin care concerns are focused on treating mild forms of acne and acne rosacea, try BIOSKINCLEAR. This natural product is gentle and can effectively and safely deal with mild to moderate acne as well as reducing acne scars.
